Organized on January 26, 1996 in Yuma, Arizona The Freedom Library mission is to promote an understanding and acceptance of the Freedom Philosophy and the principles of liberty as
expounded in the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution including the concepts of free markets, private property and limited government and the moral and intellectual principles which form the basis of a free society.
The Freedom Library offers several events throughout the year in support of its mission including awarding scholarships twice a year, an Independence Day celebration, and a celebration honoring the United States Constitution.
It also holds its annual Night For Liberty Dinner and Auction Gala in the fall as its major fundraising event besides the several restaurant takeovers throughout the year in Yuma. In addition, The Freedom Library sponsors an Education Forum and other as needed events in support of its mission to help anyone learn ideas on Liberty.
The main thrust of the support of its mission statement, though, are the scholarship classes it offers on the U.S. Constitution and economics held each semester where scholarships are awarded to those age 14 and older who participate in the classes. To help those under the age of 14 learn about ideas on Liberty, The Freedom Library offers classes in the same subject matters in preparation to be able to participate in the scholarship classes.
The Freedom Library is a non-partisan educational organization striving to enlighten all individuals regarding the importance of basic economics and the facts regarding the Constitution of the United States.
It has over 3500 resource materials that can be checked out by the public, many books for sale, and has had live re-enactments by national historians and community speakers all in support of The Freedom Library mission statement.
The Freedom Library is a 501c3 non-profit organization under IRS guidelines and relies solely on donations/contributions from private individuals, companies, businesses, and organizations that support its mission, either financially or by volunteering.
